Hygiene inspectors in Cardiff have found dirt-caked taps, grease smeared walls and floors, and poor disinfectant facilities in the kitchen of Britain’s one and only super-size restaurant.
Inspectors also revealed cobwebs scattering the ceiling, meals heated in a food-encrusted microwave and staff failing to wash their hands while preparing grub.
Outside the kitchen was no better, with the male toilet found to be lacking hand washing facilities, and the tiles in the female toilet described as cracked and dirty.
Although inspectors handed the Sizzle and Grill based in the Welsh capital a food hygiene rating of zero, the diner inexplicably remains open to the public, despite its food being deemed “unfit for human consumption”.
Here at Rentokil Specialist Hygiene, we’re well aware of the risks a slip in a restaurant’s hygiene standards can cause to the public – which is why we offer periodic kitchen deep cleaning to ensure your eatery maintains impeccable levels of cleanliness.
